This weekend, we had two birthday parties, one for my grandmother and another for two young cousins. I bought a toy for the little boy but I was able to make a barrette for the little girl and using some vintage-type fabrics, make a brooch for my grandmother. It was so much fun! I think I enjoyed making things for gifts better than if I was the one receiving gifts. It’s true, tis better to give than to receive.
I also finished the snowman aprons that I started Christmas 2008. It’s been truly thrilling to complete so many projects. It’s been eye-opening. Even eccentric, free-spirited souls like myself can do so much more with a plan and a system for getting things done. I’m in the process of turning half of my walk in closet into a craft studio. It’s not a huge space but it’s my creative space. Keeping my supplies accessible has been a huge contributing factor in keeping me moving forward and completing projects.
